SERVO DRIVES

Cncrepair.com rebuilds or exchanges the following CNC Servo drives, if your drive is not listed, please call. We continually add new drives to our list

The primary causes of failure of servo drives is fan failure, running hot and cast iron dust grime. Keep your electrical cabinets closed, keep your fans in good repair and KEEP YOUR CABINET FILTERS CLEAN!.

When troubleshooting any AC or DC PWM servo drive, it is risky to swap top boards while trying to find the problem. A bad top board can blow the power modules and bad power modules usually blow the top board. Board swapping often leads to 2 MACHINES DOWN! Call the OEM and obtain their procedure for checking the power modules with a ohmmeter. Then check the for the correct base drive voltages on the top board without DC bus voltage. We provide phone troubleshooting for the above drives on a pay basis.

Manufacturer Typical control Typical failures Typical part #
Faunc DC servo drives, with black fuses and ribbon jumper between drives Fanuc 5, Fanuc 6, Fanuc 7 erratic operation, axis vibrates, blows fuses, typically only top board needs fixed
Fanuc DC servo drives with circuit breakers (2 wires to motor) Fanuc 6, Fanuc 7, Fanuc 10, Fanuc 11, Fanuc 0 very reliable, OC alarm, IOC alarm Drive: A06B-6047-H002 Top Board:A20B-0009-0320
Fanuc AC servo drives (3 wires to motor) Fanuc 6, Fanuc 10, Fanuc 11, Fanuc 0 OC alarm, blows main fuses, smoke, very reliable
Fanuc AC servo drives, dual or triples Fanuc 11, Fanuc 15, Fanuc 0 smoke, OC alarm, blown fuses, expensive to repair
GE HiAk servo drives GE-1050 or Bendix 5, Fanuc 6 blows fuses, red led is lit often the control board and power supply are contributing to the problem PWM-5
